It’s official. This marks the last JaGaCorner email newsletter that you will receive…
…Because we’re moving our newsletter into JaGaApp!
Truth to be told, we have been planning a major release for JaGaApp for a while now.
Some of you provided feedback saying that we’re under-utilising the real estate at the bottom of JaGaApp. A number of you wanted to have community polls, and some wanted JaGaApp to have a more “community” feel to the app.
We can’t promise that we could deliver exactly what you asked for, but we’re certain that this is a step into the right direction of building communities of love.
Within the next few days, you will be welcomed with a new feature inspired by our weekly employee get together: JaGather!
CORNER TALK 🗣️
Ja...Gather? What?
“I have a sofa that I would like to give away to my neighbours…”
“I’m looking for a part time piano teacher for my daughter!”
“Do you have a plumber you can recommend me?”
As you may have pieced it yourself, JaGather is a word play combining two words. JaGa (our brand) and Gather. “Jaga” is “to care”, and the best way to show care in neighbourhoods is together, to gather things your neighbours may need!
Put together, JaGather is our brand new feature for you to look after your neighbours, by:
- Selling/Giving away unused/preloved items to your neighbours
- Requesting for items that you may need
We do not intend to replace your WhatsApp groups, but we hope that this feature would help your community in curating a more meaningful neighbourhood marketplace. Here’s why:
- Your neighbour might have something they want to let go, that you need. 😉 If you’re part of those Facebook “Buy Nothing” Groups, you’d know what we’re talking about!
- Spending lesser also mean reduced environmental wastages, that in turn lower your neighbourhood carbon footprint. ✅
(P/S: You can leave your “Good Morning” greetings in your neighbourhood WhatsApp groups.)
Coming into the new home page, you will be greeted with a refreshed layout for JaGather that allows you to:
- Giveaway (any preloved items you may have)
- Buy OR Sell
- Request (for a recommendation, a home repairs guy, etc.)
- Read JaGaCorner!
This is our first iteration based on popular demand from our users, and we believe these make up the fundamental building blocks of a neighbourhood that cares. 🥰
Naturally, more features might be added to JaGather (i.e. polling, property buy-sell, events) depending on how well-received this is. We’re totally open to hearing your thoughts after using it!
We’ll be publishing a set of Community Guidelines in-app upon launch, but IF you ever find a post offensive or violating the guidelines, you can always report it via the 3-dot icon on the top of the post.
JaGather is a neighbourhood-exclusive feature. In other words, only residents that have been authorized to use JaGaApp in your neighbourhood would be able to access this portion of the app. No strangers, only verified neighbours!
We have also refreshed the Profile section of the page, and you will be greeted with a re-organized look and feel of the features that you are familiar with.
Don’t worry though, you’ll feel right at home once you get around it!
