Preparing for Hari Raya
Hari Raya’s coming in less than 2 weeks!
While planning for our work rotations to support our Muslim colleagues celebrating Hari Raya Aidilfitri, some of us were also digging around for:
- Bazaars to go
- Recipes to cook back at home
- Where to shop for new clothes for Raya
- Things to help with your “balik kampung” trip.
And so we made a list! To get you into the mood for Hari Raya, we’ve compiled a checklist of things you will need to do throughout the next few weeks of Ramadan and Hari Raya Aidilfitri. 😉 Let’s get into it!

The Ultimate Raya Checklist
- Lots of Ramadan Bazaars! If you’ve been trying to find new bazaars to go to for your buka puasa meals, fret not. We got you a full list of them. 😇
- This Kuih Siput recipe got our mouths watering 🤤
- One up your reunion dinners with the Beef Rendang Lasagna! 🐮
- Khairul Amin’s Ketam Masak Lemak Cili Api got our legs lemah (weak) 😭

Life can get busy, and we know some of you might have not got the time to shop for new clothes. We found a few bazaar sales that you may want to visit this weekend for some last-minute shopping!

You shouldn’t be expecting visitors arriving at your doorstep if you’re not home, so make sure to do the following:
- Change your JaGaApp Intercom numbers (make sure you do not have your landline as an Intercom Number)
- Configure your Emergency Contacts (in case of Emergencies, trigger From My Location on highways to notify them with your GPS location)
- Inform your Management/Committee that you will not be home! Units on JaGaApp can be displayed as “Vacant”, and guards can stop visitors from coming in if they see that there’s no one home. 🤓
Driving back home? We think these will come in handy!
Before you Start your Engine:
- Check the highway cameras for a live CCTV view of the traffic situation
- This Spotify playlist is pretty rad for our “balik kampung jingles” standard!
- If you’re not on Spotify, give this YouTube Playlist a try instead.
On the Road: Watch Out for These:
- Stop and Go! We sifted through public reviews and Google Maps, here’s a list of awesome RnR’s on the highway we think you might appreciate!
- Don’t Speed. We are advocates of safe driving, and to be safe than sorry, make sure you keep an eye out for the speed trap cameras in these highways.
We’re a multiracial country after all, so it’s actually pretty common to have friends from other races attend Raya open houses.
If you’re one of those friends, and if this is your new to Raya open houses, make sure to be a good guest by doing these!
- Dress modestly. Covered clothings? Expected. Traditional clothes? Even better. Kurma? Yusuf Taiyoob~
